“Sujetador, sujetador”
Tape holder for collective exhibition: DECODE
Marco Museum, 2025.
Adhesive tape holds immense value for me, for however silent it may be, it accompanies me in crucial moments and transcends its practical function to become indispensable. In its design, following its complete function, a long spiral unfolds, holding things together with its dynamic and ephemeral presence in different places, on objects, and in different rooms. Adhesive tape is the purest representation of my childhood, supporting, protecting, and sometimes even adorning the world around me.
At the same time, adhesive tape is a versatile and functional element that has become an indispensable tool in our daily lives. Its ability to join and hold objects efficiently and durably makes it a symbol of engineering and innovation. The use of metal in this piece reflects the technology and durability of adhesive tape, while its panty-like shape evokes the idea of support and protection. In this way, the work explores the relationship between technology and humanity, and how the objects we use can reflect and shape our everyday experience.
Fundrasing for the benefit of the Museum.
